Located at 5045 Jonestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17112, MISSION BBQ operates as a chinese bbq serving Harrisburg in Pennsylvania. Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 AM–9 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (717) 901-4317. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Harrisburg is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Harrisburg peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. I usually avoid chain restaurants but we were traveling and it was convenient. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The brisket was quite good. I tried both the lean and the full fat version and both were good. The lean was way easier to eat while driving. I would definitely go back.

Came here about a week ago. Food was excellent and consistent as always. My friend got a platter with pulled pork and sliced brisket which was excellent. I settled with a chopped brisket sandwich. A little too much sauce for me but I haven’t had it in a while. Overall everything was still great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good place to stop by for a quality meal thats comes out relatively quickly.

I love BBQ, and theirs is top notch. Most places I can just look and say “mines better”. Theirs is just absolutely consistently amazing. We have a joke in our family that “you can taste the love” in the food, and honestly they exemplify that. The brisket, the pork, the chicken, the sausages… they are all so good, but then again I have never seen a staff member that didn’t look like they lived what they are doing. They are all truly I love with the mission and products and for good reasons. What a truly great American business model. Happy people, good food, great place.

I am from Texas so didn't have high hopes with having bbq here in PA. This bbq was so moist and amazing. The Mac and cheese was perfect as well. They had a few choices of sauces bold was the perfect bbq sauce for me. Only issue is its quiet pricy.

My husband bought me a brisket entree a few evenings ago. This was supposed to be tender and juicy, but it was so dry and rough in texture. It was hard to chew and they gave me a pieces with lots of fat on it, which I had to pick apart. The mac and cheese is okay, but it doesn’t taste like it’s made from scratch as they market it to be. I don’t like that they scrape you the burnt cheese on top which is hard, so I picked that part off too. The only thing I liked was the corn bread. Usually they give you a small piece and mine came with one but my husband paid for an extra piece. I feel like they got stingy with their portions since they give you so little but the prices go up and they’re expensive. I’m actually not a fan of Mission BBQ for these reasons and they over-salt their food. But there weren’t any other fast food options that we were in the mood for so we settled for this. Just disappointing in the value, quality, and portions of the foods.
